If you're new here: Hi! Welcome. I make fantasy maps. The main type of fantasy maps I create are for Dungeon Masters/Game Masters needing a custom map for their homebrewed TTRPG campaign.
I wanted to share some of my favourite examples of custom maps I've drawn over the years. In here, I have custom cities, lands, regions, and even one continent based on the spots on someone's dog. How cute is that!
Custom City Fantasy Map
Starting off with a city map, I actually haven't done many of these. This was a specific request for what they wanted included. I think now, a few years after the fact, I would add more details into areas such as the fields and river. But the customer was happy with the result :)
Custom Continent Fantasy Map
This still sits as one of my favourite custom maps to date. The person behind the layout of the continent understood a lot about how mountain ranges and lands would have formed, and they included all of the essential topography for people to survive on (rivers, roads, forests, etc.). I also had a fun time making the little icons for the cities, ruins, etc.
Custom World Fantasy Map
Going larger, this custom map includes an entire world of several continents and islands. This is also one of my favourite designs because they incorporated all of the seas and waterways as big focuses.
Custom Village Fantasy Map
I made this one for an ongoing D&D campaign set loosely in the Icewind Dale campaign, where the players' home base was set in a snowy village called Emberhold. I don't normally make colourized maps, but I wanted to try something new with this one.
Custom "Name" Fantasy Map
This one I made for fun as a trial to see what it would be like to turn someone's name (like John, seen here) into a fantasy map, where all of the cities relate to a place this person likes or cares about. In this instance, I used places from Star Wars, but it could be just as interesting to show places where they've lived, travelled, met someone important, etc.
Custom Open World Fantasy Map
The key to this map request was to leave a lot of blank spaces for the DM to fill in as the campaign expanded beyond the very detailed section you see in the East. I think that's a great idea if you haven't figured out your entire world yet, or you want to keep some things unexplored or hidden from your players!
Custom Dog Fantasy Map
If you can believe it, this map was based on the customer's dog's spots! I absolutely love that idea. I went wild with the names of places, leaning heavily on my talents for puns (The Howling Plains, The Leashless Lands, Belly Bay, Kibble Cove and so on). This was insanely fun to create.
Custom Fantasy Continents
There are three continents, two on the first map, and the third on the second map. I created these maps for the epic fantasy book series I wrote. So, not for a D&D campaign, but for the front pages of a fantasy novel. This was even more fun because I had complete creative control over where everything would go.
And there you have it! Some of my top favourite custom fantasy maps I've created to date. I love doing custom orders, so if that's something you're interested in, check out the custom options in my shop. You can order digital, print, or both.
